Details
Easy to Use, Easy to Own: Here's another great scope for your family that is super easy to use. There are just 4 parts to this telescope and it goes together in minutes. But the 60mm is powerful enough to really have some fun observing the heavens. It's great for looking at the Moon, you'll get a good look at the main craters and features of the lunar surface. You can add a lunar map to help identify specific locations. With Jupiter you should be able to pick up at least 4 of the main Jovian moons and possibly more. Rings of Saturn should be visible as well as binary stars (like the one in the Big Dipper) and star clusters.
Lots of Accessories: This telescope uses .965" diameter eyepieces and two are supplied, an H6 and an H20 which give you magnifications of 15x and 60x right out of the box. That's plenty of boost to see what you want to see. This telescope comes with a 90-degree angle prisim so you can peer down into the telescope from a very comfortable position. But this telescope also includes two very unique accessories. There's a 2x Barlow Lens and a 1.5x Erecting Eyepiece. Both are used without the angle-prisim lens, so you can use this telescope like a spy glass. The Barlow doubles your magnifications to 30x and 100x. And the Erecting Eyepiece increases your magnifications 150% and shows you a correct right-side up and right-to-left image.
Full Sized Tripod. This telescope comes with an astonishingly light tripod. Yet it's full-sized. Unless you're a professional basketball player, you shouldn't have a problem getting this telescope up to a comfortable viewing height. Unlike some other tripods, this one has zero assembly. It is completely collapsible with telescoping legs, and set-up / take-down takes seconds. Even the youngest kids can use it. The mount is an "alt-azimuth" type, which is just a fancy way of saying it is a "point-and-shoot" mount. You just twist the handle to loosen the scope, and twist and point it to whatever you want to see. There's a handy level built into the mount so you can see if your telescope is level. It's a can't miss telescope.

Simple scope perfect for kids Review by Preston
Value Gave this to the kids. They love it. They didn't need my help setting it up or anything. Very small and light weight. Easy to put up and down. The kids showed me the moon through it and looked nice. Good purchase (Posted on 11/2/16)

Easy and Affordable Review by Jess
Value If you're hesitant about buying bigger and more complicated telescopes, maybe you can start with this. It's so easy, kids will even figure out how to use it themselves.
My kids have been bugging me to get a telescope, but I had no idea what to get as I assumed all telescopes would be quite difficult to use. Imagine my surprise when I found this. All you need to do is set it up; assemble the tripod, put on the the telescope then explore! It's easy as 1,2,3. If you spot something you want to see, such as the moon, expect to see more. It's a small telescope, but you can see the craters and surface of the moon as clear as day. You can also see the stars a little bit more up close with this than your naked eye. Another plus is you can use it for daytime viewing.
I wish it had more colors though, but other than that, I can definitely say I got more than my money's worth with this telescope! (Posted on 12/8/14) -
Good for beginners and kids Review by Daniel
Value I have been using this telescope for about a year now and it never bores me.
So far I am blown away. I've seen the Orion nebula, amazing detail in the moon, Venus resolved to a very large disk, and the rings of Saturn. Even from my light polluted south St. Louis backyard I can make out two of Saturn's moons.
It is very portable, weighing about 4lbs, tripod and all. If I decide to drive out to a suburban park on a moments notice, I can have it disassembled, packed and in my car in five minutes. Then setup is equally fast. I can pick it up and walk anywhere with it. I can't wait to get some higher power eyepieces and drive out to some darker rural skies. This thing is unbeatable for the price. If you are thinking about buying a cheap refractor, this might be the one.
Cons: Weak tripod legs
From a telescope perspective, this is a very nice investment for a beginner. Nice product except for the Tripod. It's compact and light enough to transport easily, it has GREAT optics
