A Fantastic Computer Controlled Refractor Telescope. This is one of the most sought after entry-level telescopes on the market. The built-in GPS Computer Controller is so easy to use that kids and adults of all ages will have tons of fun exploring the night sky. Simply power up the telescope, choose the object you want to see on the handheld controller and the GPS computerized mount does the rest. Standard computer controlled mounts without GPS require you to align the telescope with the North Star and manually enter in your coordinates and the time. The GPS locator in this telescope mount means the telescope already knows it's location and the current time anywhere in the world. You'll be soaring to the stars in seconds.

Fantastic Space Views. The fully coated achromatic 80mm primary objective lens, is maintenance free and ready to use right out of the box. With a short 400mm focal length, this little bundle of power packs a super-fast F/5.0, which means it is the perfect light-gathering instrument for wide-field and deep space astronomy. With this kind of light-gathering power, you also will get great views of birds or animals in darker shaded areas, and you will see clear, bright images of anything through either of the two powerful Kellner eyepieces. Of course, for the backyard astronomer, this telescope is ideal and is a great introductory telescope if you are serious about learning all about astronomy. With its tremendous light-gathering power, in dark skies you can observe fabulous nebulae, galaxies, binary star systems and most of the famed deep-space Messier objects. Of course, with this telescope, you can see outstanding detail when viewing the moon and you can see you can see the Rings of Saturn and the Moons of Jupiter.

Advanced Motorized Mount. The patented design of the iOptron SmartStar-G Alt-Azimuth Mount, a.k.a. The Cube, is probably the most functional and flexible unit on the market. Both axis motors are built into a small single unit. In addition, there are no "dead spots" -- so you can point your telescope anywhere above the horizon, whereas, other mounts block the telescope tube at certain points of rotation. This mount also comes standard with AC connection. An optional DC adapter is available so you can plug your telescope motor into your car if you're camping or at any remote location. The mount also accepts 8 AA cell batteries for use at home or in the field. (Batteries sold separately.)

Automatic Computer Controlled Star Finding. The revolutionary GoToNova computerized control system is by far the most technologically advanced automated tracking system available on the market today. With a database of 50,000 celestial objects, including all of the most famous galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, not to mention the planets, you'll be able to enjoy star gazing with the simple push of a button. The GoToNova Controller is much easier to use than other similar products. The hand controller is more intuitive with menu categories better organized. It also has a larger LCD screen with more lines of content compared with the competition. Using the easy-to-use hand controller and its large LCD screen, you can easily set up your telescope and select where you want to go. The 32-channel GPS module is built-in for fully automated operation and alignment. Simply turn on the GoToNova Controller and the GPS module will automatically synchronize your telescope location and time with theGoToNova computerized control system.

Premium Optics and Equipment. Included with this telescope are 2 medium power eyepieces with storage containers. With a wide range of powers, these eyepieces are perfect for getting started on your deep-space and planetary excursions. Your telescope also comes with a dust-free cleaning cloth. The steel tripod is fully adjustable and allows even taller people to observe the stars without having to crouch down in an uncomfortable position. A handy accessory tray on the tripod makes it easy to keep track of extra eyepieces. Made of 1-inch heavy-duty stainless steel the tripod is sturdy yet elegant, and gives the user unparalleled stability during operation. Solid construction joints keep your mount locked securely.
