A reflector telescope uses a mirror to gather light and reflect it back to the front of the scope to the eyepiece. The image that you see through a reflector telescope is inverted (turned upside-down), but can be corrected with an erecting eyepiece. People don't typically use these telescopes for daytime viewing. Space objects, however, don't need to be viewed right side up, and these reflector telescopes are ideal for deep space, the Moon, planets, and other nighttime wonders. The mirrors inside these scopes allow entering light to cover more ground, even with a shorter tube.
