Online Assembly Guides
We do have online assembly guides available for many of the telescopes we sell. These step-by-step photo guides will make it easy for you to set-up your telescope and get ready for an exciting night of stargazing.
Additional Telescope Support
We will do everything we can to make sure that you have a working telescope, but a lot of it will be up to you. Over the phone or by e-mail, it is nearly impossible for us to teach you how to identify the planets, or to locate a particular star cluster. Buying a telescope is kind of like buying a guitar -- learning how to play is up to you! Telescopes are much easier to use than guitars are to play, but there is an element of learning that is in your court.
If you find that you need help using your telescope and finding space objects, we strongly recommend the book The Backyard Astronomer's Guide by Terence Dickenson & Alan Dyer. This is possibly the best book we've found on using telescopes and enjoying stargazing in your backyard. This great hardback book is full of large color photographs and detailed explanations of how to use a telescope. Of course, you can also check out any of our other great space books or you may find it helpful to work with a star map or star chart. And also, check out some planetarium software. These great software applications teach you about how to find objects in the night sky, and some even let you build an observation plan based on your location and the exact day of the year.
